Anamika Beauty Parlour

Anamika Beauty Parlour is situated in Shop No F-5 at the Prime Plaza Complex in Arera Colony. Arera Colony is a pretty well-known part of Bhopal, and this complex has a lot of different offices and shops. Our parlour is on one of the upper floors, so you have to walk through the hallway to find us. It’s a simple space where we do mostly facial work, threading, and some hair coloring. I started this place because I wanted something of my own close to home. The walls are painted a light color, and we have some old magazines on the table for when people have to wait. Most of our regulars are women from the nearby houses who just want their eyebrows done or a quick hair wash. We don't use any big fancy machines, just our hands and the usual tools. It can get a bit cramped when three or four people show up at the same time, but we make it work. The afternoons are usually the quietest time, so that’s when I tidy up the shelves. My helper is a local girl who is still learning the ropes. We drink a lot of water because it gets so hot in this part of Bhopal. It’s not a glamorous job, but it feels good to see a customer smile when they look in the mirror before leaving for their home.
