Akarshan Hair Saloon

Our shop is right in New Market, which is probably the busiest place in Bhopal. If you have ever been to New Market, you know how crowded it gets with shoppers and vendors. We are tucked into a spot there where we have been for years. It is an Akarshan Hair Saloon and we see hundreds of people walk past our door every single hour. Because of the location, we get a huge mix of customers. Some are just passing through and need a quick trim, while others live nearby and have been coming to us for a decade. The shop is always humming with the sound of clippers and the buzzing of the market outside. We don't have much room for fancy lounges, so people usually just stand or sit on the few stools we have. It’s a very practical space. Everything is within reach of the chairs. The mirrors have a few smudges and the floor is always being swept. We don't have a lot of time for long breaks because there is usually someone waiting. I enjoy the energy of being in New Market though. It feels like you are in the heart of the city. We keep our tools sharp and our hands moving. It’s not about being the most stylish place in town, it’s just about being there for the people who need us. We keep working until the market starts to quiet down.
