Laxmi Marbles

Laxmi Marbles is located right on Thalkalan Road, in the middle of the Main Market in Kachhola. Being near the New Abadi Bus Stand means there is always noise and people moving around. You can see the buses pulling in and out all day long. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We have marble slabs leaning against the walls and stacked in the back. It gets pretty dusty inside when we are working on a piece. The market is always loud, so we have to talk over the sound of the traffic. We spend most of our time showing people the different patterns in the stone. It is hard work because marble is not light. We use a lot of water to keep the dust down while we are moving things. The floor is usually wet and covered in white slurry. It is just a normal day for us here in Kachhola. Sometimes we sit outside by the road when it is quiet, which is not often. Most of the time, we are busy checking the inventory or helping a truck driver back into the narrow space. We don't have any fancy displays. It is just the stone and us. People know where to find us because we have been at this Thalkalan Road spot for a long time. We just do our thing and try to keep the shop running as best as we can.
