Gunjan Stone

We are out here in Bada Naya Gaon, which is pretty close to the Menal Water Fall if you’re familiar with the area. It’s a beautiful spot, especially when the rains come and everything turns green. Our business, Gunjan Stone, is basically a yard full of rocks and people working hard with their hands. Bijoliya is known for its stone, so it felt right for us to set up shop here. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. Most of the time, we’re out in the yard or near the cutting tools. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and dust, but we like the work. It’s honest and it keeps us fit. Some people come by on their way to see the waterfall and stop to ask questions about what we do. We aren't used to much attention, to be honest. We just focus on the stone in front of us. Every piece is different, and we try to treat them all with a bit of respect. The weather out here can be tough, either too hot or too wet, but we manage somehow. We’ve been doing this for years now, and it’s become second nature to us. It’s not a polished business by any means. Our hands are usually dirty, and there’s always more stone to move. But that’s what Gunjan Stone is all about. Just real work in a real place.
