Jai Mata Di Slate Stone

If you are ever near the Roadways Bus Stand in Ashok Nagar, you might have seen our place. Jai Mata Di Slate Stone is at number 2. The area is always loud because of the buses coming and going at all hours. We get used to the sound of the engines and the people shouting for their rides. Our yard is filled with slate stone of different sizes. It is a dusty job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. We spend a lot of time sorting through the pieces and making sure they are ready for whoever needs them. Ashok Nagar is a central spot, so we see a lot of people passing through. We don't have a polished showroom. It is more of a working yard where the real labor happens. Sometimes the stone is heavy and takes a couple of us to move it around safely. We talk to the drivers and the local contractors who stop by. There is no corporate manual here; we just know how the stone behaves and what needs to happen to get it where it is going. It is hard work, but it is what we do. The proximity to the bus stand makes it easy for deliveries, even if the traffic is a headache sometimes. We just keep our heads down and focus on the slate, day in and day out, in our corner of the city.
