Durga Machinery Works

Durga Machinery Works is over at Plot-782 in G.I.D.C. Phase-2, Chitra, Bhavnagar. If you know the Chitra area, you know it is a place where everyone is busy making something. Our plot is just one of many, but we have been here long enough that we feel like part of the furniture. The heat in Bhavnagar can be quite something in the summer, especially when you are working around heavy machinery all day long. We don't have air conditioning, just some big fans that move the hot air around. It is a tough environment but we are used to it by now. We spend our time working on different types of machines, fixing them up or putting new ones together. There is always a lot of grease involved and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We don't spend much time on paperwork if we can help it. We would much rather be out on the floor with a wrench in hand. The G.I.D.C. is a noisy place with trucks coming and going, but that is the sound of people working. We have a few regulars who have been coming to us for years. We don't do much advertising because word of mouth in a place like Chitra is usually enough. It is just a straightforward shop where we do what we know how to do without any fuss.
