Shakti Silk Route

You can find Shakti Silk Route over in B Block of the Unity Building. That’s right on Jaya Chamarajendra Road, which everyone just calls JC Road. It is a very busy part of town with all the auto parts shops and traffic nearby. Being in the Unity Building means we are around a lot of other businesses too. Our space is filled with silk, mostly in rolls and bundles waiting to be sorted. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush carpets or air conditioning that works perfectly all the time. It is a working shop. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving stock around and showing different patterns to anyone who stops by. The light in the building can be a bit dim in the hallways, but we’ve got enough lamps inside to see the colors properly. We don't go in for big sales pitches. We just show what we have and let the fabric speak for itself. It gets pretty hectic during the festival seasons when everyone is looking for something special. Sometimes we are still here late at night trying to get everything ready for the next day. It’s just a normal part of life on JC Road. We’ve been here long enough that the noise outside doesn’t even bother us anymore. We just keep going until the day is done.
