Kalyani Kalamandir

We have been here on Bannerghatta Road for a while now, right across from the Indian Institute of Management campus. Most people know the spot because traffic is always a bit heavy around here. It is just a regular shop where we keep things simple. When we first opened up at 151/1B, the area looked a lot different than it does today. We mostly handle traditional items, the kind of stuff you would expect to see in a place called Kalyani Kalamandir. It is not a fancy showroom with bright flashing lights or anything like that. Just a space with our stock laid out so people can look through what they need. Sometimes the floor gets a bit dusty when the wind picks up from the main road, but we try to keep it tidy. My uncle used to say that a business is just a building until people start coming in, and that is how we look at it. We do not have a big team or a PR person writing things for us. It is just us doing the daily work, opening up in the morning and closing when the day is done. If you are passing by the institute, you will see our sign. It isn’t new, but it is still there. We do not do much online, mostly just word of mouth from people in the neighborhood who stop by to pick up clothes or fabrics. It works for us.
