Just Kalamkaris

We are based out in Marathahalli. If you know where the South India Bank is in the Gomangalam area, we are located right near there. Just Kalamkaris is the name of our shop. It’s a place filled with stacks of cloth and all sorts of different patterns. It can get a bit crowded inside with all the stock we keep on the shelves. Marathahalli is a very busy area, there are lots of people and cars moving around all the time. We’ve been here for a bit now. It’s mostly just us handling the fabrics and talking to the people who drop by to see what’s new. We don’t have a big staff at all. Usually, it’s just two or three of us working. The shop isn’t very large, but we try to keep it as organized as possible so people can actually see the designs. Sometimes the power goes out in this block, which is annoying, but we have a small generator to keep the lights on so we can see what we are doing. It’s a bit dusty because of all the construction and the road right outside. We spend a lot of time dusting the shelves and the counters. We don’t really do much in the way of marketing or fancy ads. Most people find us because they were going to the bank or they live nearby. It’s a simple, local business. We just like the colors.
