Mahalakshmi Collections

Mahalakshmi Collections is our shop in Jayanagar Jaynagar 4Th Block. We’ve been here quite some time now. If you know the 4th Block, you know how crowded it gets, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping. Our shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into it. We spend a lot of our time folding things and putting them back on the shelves because customers like to look through everything. The lighting inside is a bit bright, maybe too bright, but it helps us see what we’re doing. We’ve got these old fans that hum all day long. My cousin usually sits near the front, and I’m usually in the back checking the stock. Jayanagar is a nice place to work, even with the parking issues. You get used to the noise of the buses going by. We’ve got regular people who stop by just to say hello even if they aren't buying anything that day. The floor is made of that old tile that stays cool in the summer, which is good because it gets stuffy in here. We keep a small kettle for tea in the corner. It's just a regular local shop. We don’t do anything fancy with the windows, just put out what we have. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to stay past closing to sort it all out. That’s just how it goes for us. We just try to keep things organized.
