Reshmi

You can find us at number 3476 in the GIDC Industrial Area, which is part of the BTM Layout. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of trucks moving in and out all day. Reshmi is what we call the shop, and we’ve been working here since the area was a lot quieter than it is now. We deal with fabrics and threads mostly. The shelves are packed with rolls of material, and sometimes it's hard to find a place to sit down. We don't have a big showroom or anything like that. Most of the people who come here are looking for specific materials for their own work. We just show them what we have on the racks. It’s dusty work, and the heat in the industrial area can be tough in the summer. We keep the fans going and just get on with it. There’s a tea stall right around the corner where we take our breaks and talk to the other shop owners. We don’t have a marketing team or any of those things. Word of mouth works just fine for us. If someone needs a certain color or a specific type of cloth, they know they can probably find it in one of our piles. It’s a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know where everything is. That’s just how we operate every single day of the week.
