Priyadarshini Handlooms

Our place is over at Century Plaza, right across from the Corporation Bank near Basham Circle. We have been focusing on handlooms for a long time now. If you know Dr Rajkumar Road, we are in the 6th Block area. The shop isn't huge, but we pack it with a lot of different fabrics. Hand-woven stuff has a different feel to it, and that is mostly what we handle here on Kamaraja Road. It is a bit of a maze getting around sometimes with the construction nearby, but once you find us, it is pretty quiet inside. We spend a lot of our day folding and unfolding stacks of cloth for people who want to see the details. It is not the kind of shop where everything is behind glass. You can actually touch the material. We have had customers coming in since they were kids, and now they bring their own families. It makes the day go by faster when you see familiar faces. We are not trying to be the biggest store in town. We just like having good stuff on the shelves. Sometimes the stock takes a while to arrive because of how it is made, but we don't mind the wait. It is just me and a couple of others working here most days. We try to keep things organized, even when it gets a bit messy during the festival seasons. It is just a regular local business.
