Our place is at number 18 on Muthu Gramani Street in Periamet. If you know this part of town, you know it's the heart of the leather trade. We’ve been operating out of this small street for a good bit of time. It’s a busy area, lots of noise and people moving goods back and forth. We mostly handle different types of leather hides. The smell of tanned leather is something you just get used to when you work here every day. It's not a showroom with bright lights; it's more of a workspace where we keep our stock. We deal with various grades of leather, and people come to us when they need material for bags or shoes or whatever else. We try to keep the stacks organized, but when a new shipment comes in, things can get a bit cluttered for a few days. It's just how the business goes in Periamet. We don't spend money on fancy signs or websites. Most of our customers are regulars who have been buying from us for years. They know where to find us on Muthu Gramani Street. We open up early and usually stay until the sun goes down. It is hard work, lifting heavy skins and checking the quality of each piece, but it keeps us busy. If you need some leather, you just drop by the shop and see what’s on the racks today. It is a simple setup but it works for us.
