Kamal Collection

We are up here on the second floor of Nks Plaza. It is right across from Hotel Raghavendra Prasanna, which stays pretty busy with people coming and going for meals all day long. Chickpet is a crowded area, so getting through the streets can be a bit of a headache some days, especially when the weather is bad. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. Most mornings start with unlocking the gate and making sure everything looks okay. It gets a bit dusty because of all the traffic nearby, so there is always a lot of cleaning to do before anyone even walks in. We spend most of our time just organizing the stock and talking to the people who wander up the stairs. The stairs are a bit steep, so you really have to watch your step. Sometimes it feels like we are just part of the furniture here. We don’t really have any big slogans or anything like that. It’s just us doing what we do every day. The afternoon sun hits the window in a weird way, making it quite hot around three o'clock. We usually just have some tea then and wait for the evening rush to start. It is a simple setup really, nothing too fancy or polished about the place. We just try to keep things moving and hope the electricity doesn't cut out when it gets really humid outside. That is pretty much the whole story of Kamal Collection.
