Bright Shop

I’ve been at Bright Shop for a while now, and being right by the Water Tank Road in Gandhi Nagar is a good spot. We’re at number 5, and it’s a small place that’s easy to walk past if you aren’t looking for the sign. The water tank is a huge landmark, so I usually just tell people to look for that and they find us pretty quickly. The shop itself is a bit cramped because I try to fit a lot of things onto the shelves. I don’t like seeing empty spaces, so I’m always rearranging the stock. The front window lets in a lot of light in the morning, which is why I guess someone named it Bright Shop a long time ago. The floor is made of old stone and it’s cool under my feet, which is nice when it gets hot outside. I have a small radio that plays in the background, mostly just for some noise while I’m working. People from the nearby houses stop by to chat about the weather or the price of things these days. It’s not a fancy place, and the door creaks a little bit when you push it open. I’ve thought about fixing it, but then I wouldn't know when someone was coming in. It’s a simple life here in Gandhi Nagar, and I like the way the street feels in the late afternoon when things finally start to quiet down.
