Hasthakriya

Down in Malleshwaram at the S P Extension, you can find us at 2nd Cross, building number T 139. The name of the place is Hasthakriya. It’s tucked away a bit from the main market madness, but it’s still very much a part of the local scene. Malleshwaram has a certain old-world feel to it, and we think our little spot at T 139 fits right in. The shop is filled with things we’ve gathered, and it smells a bit like old wood and dust, which we actually quite like. It’s not a corporate showroom with bright lights and polished floors. We have some old furniture and some shelves that have seen better days. 2nd Cross is a nice street, usually a bit quieter than the others, which makes it easier for people to stop and look around. We don't have a big staff, just us working here day in and day out. We didn't want a complicated name, so Hasthakriya is what we went with. The building T 139 is an older one, so it has thick walls that keep it relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We spend a lot of our time just organizing the stock and chatting with anyone who wanders in from the S P Extension. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours and we are comfortable here. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just how things are most of the time.
