Hand Work

The shop we call Hand Work is situated in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar, right inside the Abdul Hameed Saheb Building. You can find us in the Chamundinagar area, which is usually buzzing with people and traffic throughout the day. Our space isn't very large, and it’s often filled with the materials we use for our daily tasks. It’s called Hand Work because that’s exactly what happens here—a lot of manual effort and using our hands to get things built or fixed. The building itself is an older one, so it has its quirks, like the occasional leaky pipe or a door that squeaks no matter how much oil you put on it. We don't mind much because it has character and the rent is fair. Working in RT Nagar means there’s always somewhere nearby to grab a quick coffee or a bite to eat when we take a break. We aren't a big factory with machines doing everything. It’s just a few of us sitting at our benches and focusing on the details. We don't use fancy jargon to describe what we do. If someone asks, we just show them the projects we are currently working on. It’s a gritty, honest way to make a living, and we take some pride in being part of this local community. Our door is usually open to let in a bit of a breeze while we work, keeping us connected to the street.
