I’ve been running Gowri Silks for a while now, right here in Mathikere near the government school. It’s a busy little spot on 4th B Cross. Most days you'll find me sorting through the fabric stacks or helping someone pick out a saree for a wedding. People know where we are because of the school nearby, it's a good landmark for anyone getting lost on these streets. We just have silks and some other clothes piled up. It's not a fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. Just a shop where we sell what people need. I try to keep things organized but sometimes it gets a bit messy when we have a lot of customers coming in at once. My family helps out too. We've stayed in this same spot at 139/A for years. You probably walked past us if you live around here. We don't do much advertising. Most folks just hear about us from their neighbors or see the sign while they’re walking to the market. It’s a simple way to make a living. I like seeing the different patterns come in every week. Sometimes the colors are really bright, other times they are more plain. I just pick what looks decent and put it on the shelf. If you’re looking for a specific type of silk, I might have it tucked away in the back. It's just a regular local shop doing what we do every day. I'm usually there from morning till the evening sun goes down and then I close up.
