Kashish Designer Boutique

Kashish Designer Boutique is right on Dinnur Main Road in the R T Nagar area. It’s a busy spot with lots of people moving back and forth all day. We opened this boutique because we had a passion for clothes and wanted a place where we could work on our own designs. It’s not a huge space, but we have enough room for a few mirrors and a couple of racks. Most of our time is spent measuring fabric and talking to people about what they want for a special occasion. We have a lot of scrap fabric lying around the cutting table, and the pincushions are always full. Sometimes a customer comes in with an idea that is hard to do, and we have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to make it work. It’s a lot of trial and error. We don’t have a polished sales pitch. We just show people the fabrics and tell them what we can do. Some days the shop is very quiet and we just sit and sew, and other days it’s so packed we can barely move. The bells on the door ring every time someone enters, which is a sound I’ve grown very used to. We just want to make clothes that fit well and look okay. It’s hard work and our eyes get tired from the close work, but seeing a finished piece makes it worth it.
