We are over in Ulsoor at 112, 5th Cross in Cambridge Layout. It is one of those parts of Bangalore that still feels like a neighborhood rather than just a bunch of offices. Our office is a simple space where we keep our drawing boards and computers. There is usually a bit of dust on the shelves from all the physical models we used to make back in the day. We focus on getting the design right for whatever space someone has. It is not always about big mansions; sometimes it is just a small shop or a single room addition. We have been here for a while and we know the local shops and where to get the best tea in the afternoon. The streets around Cambridge Layout are narrow, so we see a lot of the local life going on outside our windows. We do not use a lot of fancy jargon. If a wall needs to be moved, we just say it needs to be moved. Architecture is mostly about solving problems and making things fit. We spend hours looking at screens, but the best part is when we actually see a building go up in person. It is hard work and involves a lot of back-and-forth with builders who have their own ideas. We just stay in our corner of Ulsoor and keep producing the plans that people need. It is a good way to spend the day. (254 words)
