Arun Nalapat Architect

I've been working as an architect out of this office at 129/1 Old Varthur Road for a good number of years. It’s right near the C.V Raman Nagar post office, so it is usually easy for people to find us. The building we are in is older, but it works fine for what we do. We don't really go for that high-end office look. Instead, we have shelves full of old files and samples of stones and wood that we've collected over time. My days are usually split between sitting at my desk drawing and driving out to different parts of the city to see how projects are coming along. Traffic on Varthur Road can be a nightmare some days, so I try to plan my site visits early. We handle all sorts of jobs, from small house extensions to bigger buildings. Each one has its own set of problems to solve. Sometimes the plumbing won't fit where it was supposed to go, or the client changes their mind about the kitchen at the last minute. We just take it as it comes. It's a practical job. We try to listen to what people want and tell them if it's actually possible or if it's going to cost way too much. People around here know us as the place to go if you want a sensible plan without a lot of talk. We just do the work. (252 words)
