Chisel Architects

Chisel Architects is based in Bangalore, specifically in the Domalur area. We have our workspace in Sri Rajarajeswary Nilayam, which is at B 776. Being in Bangalore means there is always something being built or renovated nearby. We spend our days drawing up plans and thinking about how to make spaces work better for the people living in them. It’s not always about making things look pretty; it’s more about making sure the walls are in the right place and the roof doesn't leak. We’ve got our desks set up with all our tools and computers. Sometimes we spend hours just arguing over where a window should go. Domalur is a good spot for us because it’s central enough to get around to different sites. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably see one of us with a coffee cup looking at a blueprint. It’s a small team here. We prefer it that way because we can actually talk to each other without sending a hundred emails. We've done a lot of different projects over the years, some big and some very small. Each one has its own set of problems to solve. We just take it day by day and try to get the drawings right before the builders start their work. It is a slow process sometimes.
