Chisel Architects is based in Indiranagar, specifically at 2588, 2nd Cross, 18th Main in HAL 2nd Stage. Indiranagar is a pretty lively place to have an office. There’s always a new cafe opening up or a lot of people walking around. Our building is on a slightly quieter side street, which is nice when we need to concentrate on drawings. Inside, it looks like you’d expect an architect’s office to look—lots of large tables, rolls of paper, and computers with big screens. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood grow and change. We handle a variety of projects, from small house renovations to larger building designs. It’s not always glamorous work. A lot of it involves sitting through long meetings or trying to figure out how to fit a staircase into a tiny space. We are a smallish team, and everyone chips in on whatever needs doing. Sometimes the office is quiet, and other times everyone is talking at once trying to solve a design problem. We don’t have a big corporate lobby. You just walk in and we’re right there working. We like the local feel of HAL 2nd Stage. It’s a good spot for us because it’s central and easy for people to reach. We just keep busy with our designs and our plans every day of the week.
