Ceramic Shoppe

Our shop is located at No 26 in the JP Nagar Gidc Estate. It’s an industrial kind of area, so it’s not the most glamorous spot, but it’s where all the action is for things like tiles and ceramics. We have piles of different samples all over the place. Sometimes it feels like we’re tripping over boxes of floor tiles. People come in looking for something specific for their kitchen or bathroom, and we spend a lot of time walking around showing them the different finishes. Some are shiny, some are matte, and some are just plain weird. We’ve been here at the Ceramic Shoppe for quite some time now. The dust is probably the biggest thing you notice when you work with ceramics all day. You clean a shelf and ten minutes later it looks like you never touched it. We don't have a big marketing team or anything; it’s just a few of us who know the inventory. If someone asks for a specific shade of grey, we usually know exactly which stack it’s in. The Gidc Estate can be a bit loud with all the other businesses nearby, but you get used to it. We just try to keep things organized so when a customer comes in, we can actually find what they need. It’s a lot of heavy lifting too. Loading those crates onto trucks is a workout every single morning. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to walk in.
