Our shop is located at 41276 in Bommanahalli, specifically in the Dilkand Nagar area. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if the traffic is bad on the main road, but we like it. The space is filled with all sorts of things, mostly canvases, frames, and bottles of paint that have been sitting around. There is a specific smell of linseed oil and wood shavings when you walk through the door. We don't have a big fancy sign outside, just enough so people know where we are. The floors have some paint spills on them that we never bothered to scrub off. It adds character, I guess. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and getting the details right on whatever project is on the table. It’s not a quiet place because there’s always someone hammering something or a radio playing in the background. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, and we see the same people walking by every morning. It’s a small team here, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept, even if it looks like a mess to anyone else. We don’t go for the corporate look at all. It’s just a workshop where we work with our hands. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late, but we just manage. It’s just how Basu Arts runs day to day. We keep a jar of brushes by the sink.
