Fashion Cottage

We've been here at Fashion Cottage for a while now. It's just a small spot on Model House Street in Basavanagudi, right near the South Tindis Hotel. Most people use the hotel as a landmark to find us. It's not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we keep ourselves busy. I started this because I wanted something local. The building is No. 19, and it’s pretty easy to spot once you're on the street. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded with all the stuff we have inside, but that’s just how it is. We spend most of our days sorting through items or chatting with whoever walks in from the neighborhood. Basavanagudi has changed a lot, but this little corner stays mostly the same. My cousin helps out sometimes when things get busy. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. People just know we are here. The floor is a bit old and the shelves are full, but it works for us. We try to keep things organized, though it doesn't always stay that way by the end of the day. If you're walking past the hotel, you'll see us right there. The morning starts with opening up the shutters and dusting off the front. Sometimes the street gets noisy with the traffic going towards the main road, but inside it’s okay. We drink a lot of tea while we work. It's not a big team, just a couple of us making sure everything is in its place. We’ve seen many shops come and go, but we’re still at No. 19. It’s a simple life here.
