Banumathi

Banumathi is our business and you can find us at Mahalakshmi Layout, right by Wool Market 2. It’s a busy part of the city, especially during the market days when everyone is out looking for a deal. We’ve been here for a while and the location has become a second home to us. It’s not a very quiet place to work. There is always someone shouting or a truck backing up, but you get used to it. Our shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside. It’s just a regular building with our name on it. Inside, we keep things pretty simple. We don't have a lot of extra staff, so we end up doing a bit of everything ourselves. From cleaning the front step to handling the books, it’s all on us. We like it that way because we know exactly what is happening. We don't bother with brochures or big signs. Most of our regulars just know we are here. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to catch up on, and other times we close a bit early if it’s quiet. We don't follow a corporate handbook or anything. We just do what makes sense for the day. Being near Wool Market 2 means we see a lot of different people, which keeps things interesting. It’s a straightforward way to make a living and we’re happy with it.
