About balakrishna karkera – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Bengaluru
I am balakrishna karkera and I work out of my place called Varun, which is house number 18 on the 9th Cross in Gangamma Layout. This is over in Ashoknagar, specifically in the Banashankari Bsk 1st Stage area of Bangalore-50. It’s a nice, settled neighborhood with lots of trees and older houses. My setup is simple and functional. I’ve been in this part of Bangalore for a long time, way before all the new high-rises started going up. I don't have a big corporate office with a lobby or a secretary. It’s just me and the space I’ve carved out for my work. Most of my morning is spent drinking coffee and looking over my notes for the day. The 9th Cross is usually quiet, though you get the occasional vendor shouting about fresh vegetables. I like the peace here. It allows me to focus on what I need to do without the distractions of the main city center. I don't go in for fancy marketing talk or trying to impress people with big words. If you need something done, you just come by and we talk about it. My desk is a bit of a mess, but I have my own system for finding things. Being in Bsk 1st Stage feels right for me. It’s a grounded place, and that’s how I like to run my business—staying practical and just dealing with reality. I’ve lived here long enough to see everything change around me lately.
