Being a structural engineer in Bangalore means there is always something going on. We are known as Arun Associates Bangalore, and our work takes us all over Karnataka. The office is usually filled with large rolls of blueprints and various measuring tools scattered across the tables. It is not the cleanest or most organized place, but we know exactly where every single drawing is kept. Engineering is a serious business, so we spend a lot of our time looking at numbers and making sure everything is safe. The traffic here is legendary, and it takes up a good chunk of our day just getting from one place to another. We aren't a massive company with a lot of layers. It is just a small group of us who actually know how buildings are put together. We don't use a lot of fancy jargon when we talk to people; we just tell them how it is and what needs to be done. Our office is just a place to crunch the numbers and store our gear. We don't have a fancy reception or anything like that because we are usually out in the field anyway. It is a practical, hands-on kind of life, and that suits us just fine.
