Aakrutees Boutique

Down on S R P Road, near the border of Koramangala and Ambalipura, you’ll find Aakrutees Boutique. It’s a small shop we’ve had for a while now. We don't have those massive glass windows like the malls, just a cozy space filled with clothes and mannequins. Most of our regulars live nearby and just pop in to see what’s new or to get something altered. We spend a lot of time with measuring tapes around our necks, pinning fabric and talking about what style fits best. It’s a very personal way to work. The shop can get a bit crowded on Saturday afternoons, and we often run out of hangers. We don't really do the whole high-fashion runway thing. We just care about making sure a dress fits right or that the embroidery looks good. Sometimes the bell on the door rings all day, and other times it’s just us sitting in the back, working on a new design while drinking tea. The street outside is always busy with bikes and people walking, which keeps things interesting. We’ve had some of the same sewing machines for years because they just work better than the new ones. It’s not a corporate chain; it’s just us. We know our customers by name and usually remember what they bought last time. It’s a simple, nice way to earn a living in this part of town. We just enjoy the work.
