Ryaan English Medium School

Our school, Ryaan English Medium, is tucked away in Nabhi Colony on Rupanagudi Road. Bellary is a busy place, and our corner here is no different. We started this because there was a need for a school right in this neighborhood so kids wouldn't have to travel so far every morning. The building is simple, and we have a small yard where the kids play during their lunch break. It can get pretty loud when they’re all out there at once, but it’s a good kind of noise. We focus on English because that's what the parents want for their children these days. I spend most of my morning at the gate, watching the kids arrive and making sure they get inside okay. The Rupanagudi Road area has changed a lot since we first opened, more houses and more people everywhere. Our classrooms are basic—just desks, chairs, and some posters on the walls. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just us teachers and the kids working through the books. Sometimes we run out of chalk or the fans stop working on a hot afternoon, and we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we’ve been doing it for long enough now that we have a routine. We just want the kids to learn their lessons and go home safe to their families at the end of the day.
