Indian College

Indian College is situated in the Vijayanagar Colony area of Bellary Cantonment. If you know Bellary, you know the heat can be something else, so we value the fans and the cool corners of our building. We are a straightforward educational institution. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It’s just classrooms, a library that could probably use a few more books, and some open space where students hang out during their breaks. The staff here is a small group. We know most of the students by their faces, if not their names. We handle the registrations and the daily problems that pop up, like a broken chair or a leaking tap. It’s not glamorous work, but it needs to be done so the classes can happen. We have been part of this community for years, and we have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Despite the changes outside, the college stays pretty much the same. We focus on the basics. There is no need for big corporate missions or polished slogans. We are just a local college in Bellary where people come to get their education and move forward in life. Sometimes the power goes out, and we all just wait it out or move the benches closer to the windows. That is just life here. We take things as they come and try to be helpful to the families who trust us with their children's schooling.
