Orchids Public School

We are over at Nagalingeshwar Colony, just off Shivpur Road. Orchids Public School has been part of this street for quite some time. It’s a neighborhood spot, really. The walk to the school is pretty quiet until you get close to the entrance. We have a modest building, a bit of a courtyard, and several rooms for the different grades. It gets quite lively when the kids arrive. You can hear them reciting things or just chatting. The staffroom is usually a mess of books and tea cups. We try to keep the garden at the front looking okay, but the heat makes it tough sometimes. On Shivpur Road, the traffic can be a bit much at peak hours, so we have to watch the kids carefully when they leave. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics that work. Chalkboards, wooden desks, and plenty of notebooks. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows wider to let the breeze in. It’s a very local feel here. Everyone knows whose kid belongs to which family. We just focus on the daily lessons and making sure everyone is where they should be at the right time. It’s a plain, honest place to learn. Nothing more, nothing less. We just keep our heads down and do our best with what we have got available to us in this corner of the colony.
