Athani Vidhyavardhak English Medium Primary & High School

Our school is located in Shankar Nagar, which is a part of Athani in the Belgaum district. We have both the primary and the high school sections here on the same site. The buildings are spread out a bit with a playground in the middle where the kids spend their breaks. It is an English medium school, so all the signs and the teaching are done that way. We have been here for many years and the building shows its age in some spots, but it is sturdy. The classrooms have wooden benches that have seen a lot of use. We have a small library and a room for science stuff. Athani is a decent sized town and we are one of the schools people know. It is usually quite loud in the mornings when the buses arrive and the kids start running around. The teachers here are mostly locals from the Belgaum area. We don't have a fancy auditorium or anything, just a big open space for assemblies. Sometimes the goats from the nearby houses wander near the fence. It is a very typical local school life. We have a small office for the principal and the clerk. Most of the parents come by to talk to us in person if there is an issue. It’s just a place for the kids to get their education without any big fuss or extra flashiness. We keep the gate shut during class hours.
