Platters Family Restaurant & Bar is located on 100 Feet Road in Bhatinda, right near the Ghorewala Chowk. It’s a busy intersection, so there’s always the sound of horns and traffic outside our windows. Inside, it’s a bit different. We have the dining area and the bar section, and we spend our shifts running between the two. The kitchen is always the loudest part of the building, with pans clanking and the chefs shouting out orders. We’ve got a lot of tables to cover, and on Friday nights, it can get pretty hectic with families and groups of friends coming in. We don’t use fancy linens or have a dress code; it’s just a place to eat and have a drink. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass shelves and making sure the inventory in the bar is correct. Sometimes a lightbulb goes out or a chair needs fixing, and we just do it ourselves during the slow hours. The staff here has been together for a while, so we know how each other works without having to say much. It’s a local business through and into the heart of Bhatinda. We see a lot of the same people from the 100 Feet Road neighborhood. It’s just about serving food, pouring drinks, and making sure the bill is right at the end of the night.
