Namma Annadat Farmers Producer Company Limited is located right in Building No.277, the Gadad Building on Bagalkot Road. Most people in Yaragatti know the spot. We are just a group of regular farmers who got together to try and fix some of the problems we all face. You know how it is—selling your crops alone usually means getting the short end of the stick. We figured if we formed this company, we could maybe get a fairer deal for everyone involved. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our books and hold our meetings. We spend a lot of time talking about the weather and the soil. Sometimes the younger guys come in with ideas about new ways to plant, and the older folks tell them why it might not work, and we eventually find a middle ground. It’s a community thing more than a business thing. We all have our own fields to worry about, but we take turns coming into the Gadad Building to handle the administrative side of things. It gets dusty, and the fans aren't always working great, but we get the job done. We don't have any fancy mission statements or marketing people. We just want to make sure the farmers in our part of the world can keep food on their tables.
