Our place is located at House No.263 in Sulebhavi, which is in the Hungund area. We deal with handlooms, something that has been part of this region for a long time. It’s not a big factory with loud machines, but more of a traditional setup where people use their hands and feet to work the looms. The rhythm of the weaving is the background noise of our daily life. We spend a lot of time looking at threads and making sure the patterns are coming out okay. It is slow work, and you can’t really rush it if you want it done right. The office is right there in the village, so it’s easy for everyone to stop by. We don't have a big staff, just a group of us who know the trade. Sometimes we struggle with getting the right materials on time, but that’s just how it goes in a small town. People here have been weaving for generations, so there is a lot of local knowledge in the room. We don't use much technology, mostly just the old ways of doing things. It keeps us busy from morning until evening. We handle the sales ourselves too, mostly talking to people who appreciate the manual work. It is an honest way to make a living, even if it’s not the easiest. We just keep the looms moving and see what comes of it each day. No fancy sales talk here, just the work we do.
