The Indian Cane Power Ltd.

We are based in Uttur Village, right in the heart of the Mudhol area. If you know this part of the country, you know it is all about the sugarcane. The smell of the crush is something you just get used to after a while. We have been operating here for a bit now, focusing on what we can get out of the cane. It is a huge operation but we try to keep things grounded. The mill is loud and there is always steam or dust in the air, but that just means work is happening. We employ a lot of people from the surrounding villages. On harvest days, the roads are packed with tractor-trolleys full of stalks waiting to get weighed. It can get pretty chaotic, honestly. We do not have some polished corporate philosophy. We just want the machines to keep running and the farmers to get a fair shake. My office is usually covered in papers and dust from the yard. We are not big on meetings or fancy presentations. Most decisions are made while standing next to a conveyor belt or over a quick meal in the canteen. It is hard work, especially when the heat hits in the afternoon. But when the power is being generated and the juice is flowing, it feels like we are doing something useful for the region. We just take it one day at a time and try to fix whatever breaks as fast as we can.
