Mayur Engineering

Our workshop is located at Plot No-179 in the Zone-F/5 section of the GIDC Estate. If you’ve ever been to a GIDC area, you know exactly what it’s like. It’s all about the machines, the smell of oil, and the constant sound of something being hammered or cut. We do engineering work here at Mayur Engineering, which mostly means we are fixing parts or making new ones for various industrial uses. It is a practical environment. We don't have air conditioning or a fancy lobby. We just have our lathes, our drills, and our workbenches. Most of the day is spent looking at drawings or measuring metal to make sure we don't waste any material. Mistakes happen, of course, and then we just have to start over and get it right. The estate is a huge place, and we’re just one small plot among many. We know the guys in the shops next to ours, and sometimes we borrow a tool or help them out with something. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet for hours. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big talk. We just want to finish the jobs we have on the bench so we can take on the next ones. It’s a gritty, noisy way to spend the day, but it’s what we do here. We usually end up with grease under our fingernails no matter how careful we are.
