Shardha Rice Mills

We are located right on N. M College Road, and if you live around here, you probably know the sound of our machines. Shardha Rice Mills has been part of this street for a long time now. It’s not a fancy setup, just a lot of bags, dust, and hard work every day. Anyway, when the harvest starts, things get really busy and the trucks start lining up early in the morning. We spend most of our time making sure the rice is cleaned and packed properly for the local shops and traders. There isn’t a lot of time for sitting around when the paddy arrives in large piles. The shed gets very hot in the summer, but we just keep at it because the work doesn't wait. Most of the folks working here have been with us for years. We know the farmers who bring their grain in, and they know us. It’s a simple routine of unloading, milling, and loading again. Sometimes the power goes out or a belt snaps, and we have to scramble to get things moving. That’s just how it goes in a place like this. We don’t have a big corporate office or any marketing people. It is just a local business on a busy road where we do our best to get the work done. You can see the piles of husks outside most days. It’s noisy, but it’s how we make our living. We just focus on the grain.
