Our place is located over on Plots 101 to 104 in the G.I.D.C. Estate. V.U. Nagar is a busy area for industry, and we fit right in with the other warehouses. We make food for chickens and cows. It's a straightforward business. We take grains and other ingredients and mix them up so farmers have what they need for their animals. The machines can be noisy when they’re running full tilt. We spend most of our mornings unloading raw materials and the afternoons packing bags. It’s dusty work. You can usually smell the grain from the street. We’ve been in Phase 1 for a long time. People around here know the Patel name. We don't do much advertising. Most of our work comes from word of mouth among the local farming community. We have a team that keeps the mixers going and makes sure the bags are weighed right. It’s hard physical labor sometimes, especially in the heat of summer. We just focus on getting the feed out to the farms on time. If the trucks don't show up, everything backs up. We keep a close eye on the quality of the corn and soy we buy. It matters for the livestock. We aren’t some big corporate office; we’re just a factory in the industrial estate doing our job day in and day out. Sometimes things break and we have to fix them ourselves, but that's just part of the routine.
