Paresh Rice & Pulse Mills

Our place is located in the G.I.D.C. Estate in Kansari, right on the Main Road. It’s easy to find because we are near the Talika Khamba. Being in an industrial estate means there is always something going on around us. Paresh Rice & Pulse Mills is a busy spot because we handle both rice and different kinds of pulses. This means we have a lot of different machinery to look after. Some days it’s the dal cleaners that need fixing, and other days it’s the rice hullers. It keeps us on our toes. The environment is very industrial, with metal sheds and gravel paths. It’s not pretty, but it’s where the work happens. We have a small crew, and everyone knows their job. Some handle the loading, others watch the machines. There is a lot of shouting sometimes just to be heard over the noise of the engines. We eat our lunch in the shade of the main building when we can. The dust from the pulses is a bit different from the rice dust; it’s finer and gets into everything. We just deal with it. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or advertising. People know we are here on the Main Road, and that’s enough for us. We just focus on keeping the equipment running and making sure the bags are stacked properly before they get shipped out.
