Our school is located right on Sultanwind Link Road, which is a busy part of Amritsar. If you know the G T Road area, you know it’s always humming with traffic and people going about their business. Shri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School is tucked right into that mix. Every morning, the sound of the city is loud until you step inside the gates. We have a lot of history in this building. The floors are worn down in spots where thousands of feet have walked over the years. It’s a big place, and it takes a lot of effort to keep it tidy. The teachers here have been with us for a long time, so they know the families in the neighborhood. We don’t have a lot of corporate rules; it’s more about just getting the teaching done. You’ll see kids carrying heavy bags and talking about cricket or their exams. We try to keep the playground area clear, though a bit of dust is inevitable in Amritsar. The school bell is probably the loudest thing we have, and it sets the rhythm for everyone. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in the world, just a reliable one where parents can feel okay leaving their children. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real place to be every single day.
