Guru Nanak Public High School Mehta

Our school is located in Mehta Chowk, which is a busy area in the Baba Bakala tehsil. We are quite close to the police station, so it's a landmark that everyone knows. Guru Nanak Public High School has been part of this Amritsar community for many years. We get kids from the village and also from the surrounding rural areas who come in by bus every morning. The school building is quite large, with plenty of rooms for all the different grades. It can get pretty hot here in the summer, so the ceiling fans are always humming away. We have a big open area where the kids gather, and it gets very dusty when the wind picks up. The staff room is always full of tea cups and piles of notebooks that need marking. We don't have a lot of extra frills here. We focus on the subjects the kids need to pass their exams and move on to college or work. The roads around Mehta are often crowded with tractors and trucks, but once you step inside the school gates, it feels a bit more orderly. We’ve been at this 143114 location long enough that we’ve taught the parents of some of our current students. It’s a local institution, and we just try to keep things running smoothly for the families who rely on us. There's always something to fix or paint, but that's just part of running a school.
