Holy Heart Presidency School

Holy Heart Presidency School is right here on Street No.2, just off Loharka Road in Gumtala. It is a busy spot in Amritsar. Most mornings, you see the kids arriving, some looking sleepy and others running to catch up with their friends before the first bell. We have been here for a while now. The building is just a regular school building, nothing too flashy, but it does the job. There is a lot of noise during recess when everyone goes out to the yard. You can hear the shouting from the street sometimes. Teachers here are local people mostly. They know the families around here quite well. It’s a normal place where children spend their day doing math or reading books. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise in the summer heat, but we get through the lessons. Himanshu handles things in the office, making sure the paperwork gets done and the phones get answered when parents call about bus timings or holidays. It isn't a corporate setup. It is more like a community spot where everyone knows each other’s names. We have classrooms filled with wooden desks and blackboards that get covered in chalk dust by noon. It feels like a real school because it is one. Nothing fancy, just kids learning their subjects and playing during the breaks. We just keep things moving every day, trying to make sure the schedule stays on track even when things get a bit hectic in the afternoons.
