G.S.P.Senior Secondary School

G.S.P. Senior Secondary School is located in Khasa Colony, which is part of Khur Manian in Amritsar. It’s a quiet area mostly, away from the main city rush. The school building is quite large because we have students from the primary level all the way up to senior secondary. We have a big gate at the entrance and a watchman who sits there most of the day. The playground is mostly grass and some dirt patches where the boys play football or cricket during the lunch break. We have a few labs for science but they are filled with old glass jars and charts that have been there for years. The teachers here are mostly from Amritsar and they take the bus or ride their scooters to get to work. We have a small canteen that sells snacks, and it’s always the busiest place during the break. The walls are covered with posters and some student artwork that is starting to fade. It’s not a shiny new building, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain out. We spend our days making sure the kids stay in their seats and actually open their books. Sometimes we have to fix a broken desk or replace a light bulb, but that’s just part of running a school. Everyone knows everyone else here, so there are no secrets. It’s just a regular local school doing its thing for the village.
