Govt. High School

This is the Govt. High School located in Kala Pind. If you know the Chheharta Railway Station area in Amritsar, you probably know where we are. It’s a familiar landmark for folks living around the 143105 postcode. The school is run by the government, so things are pretty straightforward here. We have basic rooms and a playground that sees a lot of action during the breaks. Being near the railway station means we hear the trains once in a while, but the students are used to it by now. It’s a place for the local kids from Kala Pind and nearby to get their high school years finished. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint sometimes, but the roof stays over our heads and the benches are sturdy enough. Teachers come in from different parts of Amritsar every morning. We don't have a lot of extra stuff, just the essentials for teaching and learning. It’s noisy when the kids are outside and quiet when the lessons are going on. That’s how a school should be, I guess. People often stop by the gate to ask questions or just to see what’s happening. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s not a fancy institution, just a local government school serving the community as best as it can. There is no need for anything more complicated than that. We just do our bit here every day for the kids.
