Rim Jim Bakery Ice Cream

If you walk past Khalsa College for Women in Putlighar, you will probably find us pretty easily. Rim Jim Bakery Ice Cream is just a local spot where we spend our time baking bread and freezing batches of ice cream. It smells like yeast and sugar most mornings, which is a nice way to start the day. We get a lot of students coming in between their classes and people from the neighborhood stopping by for a loaf of bread on their way home. It is not a big franchise or anything fancy. The display cases are a bit old, and sometimes the floor gets a little sticky if someone drops a cone, but we try to keep it tidy. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the area change a lot, but we just stay doing the same things. It is mostly just us behind the counter, serving whoever walks in. On hot days, the ice cream part of the shop gets really busy and it can get a bit crowded in such a small space. We do not have a website or any big marketing plans. We just rely on people liking the cakes or the snacks we put out every day. It is a simple life running a bakery. We start early while it is still dark and finish up once the shelves are mostly empty. It is just how we do things here in Putlighar.
