Kalra Bros

We are located at shop number 56 in the New Grain Market over in Jhandiala Guru. This is a place where everyone knows everyone else. Being in the grain market means our schedule follows the seasons. When the grain starts coming in, we are here from before sunrise until late at night. The office is small, just enough space for a couple of desks and some benches for people to sit while we talk business. We have calendars on the walls and a lot of samples in little bags sitting around. Kalra Bros has been a name in this market for a long time. It started with the older generation and we just kept it going. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to people face to face. There is usually a lot of tractor noise outside and the smell of fresh grain. We drink a lot of tea with the farmers who come by. It’s a simple way of living. We check the quality, agree on a price, and move on to the next task. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dirt from the boots coming in, but that’s expected. We don't worry about looking polished. We worry about the weight being right and the payments being on time. Jhandiala Guru is a small town, and we like being right in the middle of the action at the market. It’s honest work that keeps us busy throughout the year.
