Decorative Stone World

Out on the Kekri Kota Road we have our stone yard. Decorative Stone World is mostly an outdoor place. We have big slabs of rock and piles of smaller stones everywhere you look. It is a dusty business and everything we own is covered in a fine layer of gray powder. We spend the day moving stones around or cutting them to the right size for customers. The sound of the saws is quite loud and constant. The road to Kota is always busy with trucks and buses passing by. We sit in a small shed to get away from the sun when we can. There is no air conditioning here just the wind blowing across the open yard. People stop by when they are building a house or a garden wall. They look through the stacks to find the right color or shape for their project. We don't have a showroom. You just walk around the yard and point at what you like. It is heavy work and our boots wear out very fast. We use a lot of water to keep the dust down while we are cutting the stone. My hands are always rough from handling the granite and marble slabs. We have been on this road for a few years now. It is a simple operation. We just sell stone and try to keep things moving. The sun can be brutal in the middle of the day.
